The sculpture is of a walrus done in dark grey that is nearly black stone. The walrus is posed so that it is lying on its stomach with short flippers. The face has circles for eyes, a nose and groves where whiskers would go. The walrus has two white tusks, with damage to the right one being sustained prior to the work entering the collection.
