Description
Square woven tablecloth with floral and leaf designs in copper, gold, and pale blue silk on a beige linen background. The original design for this textile is in the City Museum & Art Gallery, Birmingham, England. Originally woven in four different colourings, this pattern proved very popular for church furnishings. It is known to have been used in a number of large schemes, including Stanmore Hall, Middlesex, a commission which Morris & Co. completed between 1887-1888.
