This is a small rectangular watercolour of Sproat lake surrounded by mountains in British Columbia. The image has two arms of land on the left and right side of the image which border the lake. The two arms create a pass in the lake right in the centre of the composition. The lake itself takes up the bottom quarter of the picture plane. Beyond the pass in the distance is an island backed by large snow capped mountains. The brushwork is very fine and tight using stipulation to create the forrested areas. The palette consists of blue, green, purple, white, ochre and umber.
