Description
Doll carved in soapstone. The face, which is carved with eyes, nose, lips, and eyebrows, is the only visible piece of stone. The doll's body has been carved from soapstone, save for the arms which are filled with a soft, possibly fabric, stuffing. The rest of the body is clothed in cotton textile, animal hide, and fur. The head is wrapped in a fibrous material with dark fur around the top. The main clothing is made from hide with red and blue embroidery thread along the collar bone, bottom edge, and sleeve edges. There is a hood on the back of the garment. A swath of dark green fabric is layered beneath this piece. The doll also has clothed feet.
