Artwork Detail - V6

1899-1951
watercolour paint; silk; shikishi board
overall: 27 cm x 24 cm x 1 cm
Watercolour painting with a large mountain taking up the majority of the composition. The mountain is capped with white snow, and has a peak with four points at the top. The peak of the mountain is on the upper right side of the composition, and it slopes down toward the middle left side of the composition. There is a smaller, more distant range of mountains in the middle left of the composition behind the central mountain. In the foreground there is a field filled with small brushes and shrubs painted in green and brown tones. The sky is a faint blue colour with some of the silk's natural colour peeking through. There is a gold border around the edges of the painting.
