Artwork Detail - V6

Sculpture
1979
anthler, mamal bone, leather
base: 6.5 cm x 15 cm x 24.5 cm; human figure: 18 cm x 17 cm x 8.5 cm; overall: 18.5 cm x 24.5 cm x 15.5 cm; wolf: 5 cm x 11 cm x 4.5 cm
The base is composed of a segment of antler and it has two wholes drilled into it. There are two figures, a wolf and a hunter that have pegs in their bases so that when assembled, the person and the wolf appear to be standing on the antler. The wolf is placed in front of the hunter and is white in colour with black eyes. The wolf is standing with their nose pointing forward, and their tail curling out behind. The hunter behind the wolf has their legs splayed apart suggesting motion. Their left arm is at their side while the right holds a weapon, likely a club, in a position that seems ready to strike. The hunter is brown and white in colour with a piece of light grey fur arranged to look like hair. The hunter has black eyes and an open mouth.
