Description
The painting depicts Dick Morris, who is a publisher and printer from Victoria. His family established Morris Printing Services, which was the first book publisher in the province after the Second World War. Legacy Art Galleries has an extensive collection of works by Myfanwy Pavelic, including another portrait of Dick Morris, this one a drawing. Dick Morris was connected to the University of Victoria and printed many of the Maltwood monographs. He also printed the Canadian literary publication "The Malahat Review" for many years.

Curatorial Description
The painting depicts Dick Morris, who is a publisher and printer from Victoria. His family established Morris Printing Services, which was the first book publisher in the province after the Second World War. Legacy Art Galleries has an extensive collection of works by Myfanwy Pavelic, including another portrait of Dick Morris, this one a drawing. Visual Description
Portrait of a Dick Morris who was a publisher and printer based in Victoria. He has white hair, grey eyebrows and light-coloured skin. Dick has a neutral approachable expression. The face takes up most of the composition with only a little of the sitter’s neck and shoulders included in the composition. The background is a solid pale blue colour. The brushstrokes are applied in a thick impasto style.
