Four pieces of drapery. Repeat design 'dove and rose' in shades of gold and green. Manufactured for Morris by Alexander Morton and Co. Darvel, Scotland. This technique includes pockets of silk that contrast to textured wool areas. Morton is considered one of the best textile producers of 19th C Britain. The original design for this textile is in the city Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham. (Source: The Earthly Paradise p. 168).
