Description
The composition opens onto a snowy scene done in white, grey, and brown colour scheme. The surface is uneven with what appears to be icy or snowy outcroppings throughout. In the middle ground is a person, a sled and dogs. The person stands beside the sled and is turned towards the sled, so they are turned away from the viewer. They wear a parka with the hood up. Their right arm is raised and appears to be resting on the sled. The sled has gear lashed to it and is tilted as though it was going up an incline. To the right of the sled are four dogs. The dogs appear to be bounding forward and the leads behind them are taught.
