The scene is laid in a landscape with grey and pink hillocks covered with trees, flowering plants and tufts of grass with the grey, blue and black sky. To the left appear Rama, Lakshmana on chariots accompanied by Dasaratha on a white horse and a number of retainers. In the centre they are shown standing on the ground after dismounting. Opposite them stands the towering figure of Parasurama holding his axe and behind hiom stand the gods. A little below we agains see Rama and Parasurama facing one another, and to the extreme right we observe the sage walking away, apparently satisfied. In the foreground the Rishis are shown performing a sacrifice.
