Description
The covers of the book is wrapped in a fine cloth, possibly silk. The silk is a faded light blue and has an intricate floral design executed in shiny thread. On one side of the book is a strip of white cloth, laid vertically to the left of the cover. The edges of the book have gold gilding. The interior has a total of 14 painted works on thick board, folded in an accordion style so that each panel also has a reverse side. Each painting depicts a plant, mostly flowers, with minimal background elements.

Visual Description
A book of landscape paintings with thick panels folded in an accordion style so that each page also has a reverse side. The outside of the book is covered with muted yellow fabric with a repeating floral design. The edges of the pages have gold gilding. To the left of the front cover is a long vertical strip of faded white fabric. Inside the book, there are a total of 8 works. Most focus on a central location in nature with minimal detail in the background.
With the vertical strip side facing down, opening the book from the right side are the following paintings:
- A white building with a triangular roof in centered. Written on the building is "The Wagon Wheel." In front of the building is dense foliage, executed in green, brown, and orange. To the left of the building is a path with a wooden fence. Behind the building are a few tall green trees.
- A tall tree overlooks a river seemingly flowing toward the right side. In the left half of the painting there is a brown bridge with triangular supports. The other side of the river is a hill, covered in light green foliage. In the distance are some more tall trees, executed in faded green paint. Inscribed in the bottom right corner with brown paint is "Nanaimo River May 1949"
- an ocean view with mountains in the distance. On the right there is an outcropping of trees and shore. In the lower right corner, it reads "Yellow Point May 1949"
- a road winding through a meadow with yellow and purple flowers adn some low trees and shrubs. In the distance is ocean and mountains. In the bottom irght, it reads "Beacon Hill Park May 1949".
- In the foreground is grass and the tops of evergreen trees almost as if you're looking out from the top of a cliff. Behind them is ocean and mountains. The inscrip in the bottom right corner reads "Treetops April 1949".
- The painting looks out over a lake. The shore is visible with shrubs and then evergreen trees behind them. There are a few clouds in the sky. In the lower right corner, text reads "Prospect Lake April 1949"
- the fore- and mid-ground id devoted to a body of water. In the distance there is a shore with the suggestion of trees. Mist seems to be rolling through the trees. The inscription reads "Grouse Nest March 1949"
Opening the book from the other side shows the a building with white sideboards and a red roof. the building has two chimneys and there is a fence running beside it. There are two trees, an evergreen to the left of the building and a deciduous one in front and to the right of the building. In front there is a grassy lawn. The inscription in the lower right reads "Craigflower School Built 1863 The oldest school house in Victoria". The rest of the pages on this side are blank.
