This octagonal table top is richly decorated and painted with lacquer, using black, green, orange-red, gold colours. Foliate and geometric designs continue in parallel bands around octagonal shape. The 8 figural scenes differ slightly and possibly depict scenes from the Indian epic story, The Ramayana.
