Description
This image depicts a parent with a child on their back, whose face is emerging from behind their parent's left shoulder. A great deal of the drawing has been faded by the sun, and there is a square around most of the drawing that shows where a mat has been placed for an extended amount of time. The colours that were not covered by the mat are faded and no longer represent the original drawing. The child is holding brown plant fronds in both hands, the fronds protruding to either sides of the drawing. The parent’s hair is styled in two eight-shaped buns at the sides of their heads, they are wearing a parka with a knot in the middle of their breast, with a fringed bottom that is longer in the back than in the front. They have tufted mukluks on, and in their right hand are holding the same fronds the child is holding. In their left hand is a metal took with a long wooden handle and a crescent-shaped metal end, the metal side is pointing upwards. There is a large bird directly above their heads that is drawn with a striped pattern of black and off-white. The bird's wings are outstretched, and it is larger than the child. There is a type of grass beneath the parent's feet drawn in green zig-zags and has been dotted with red spots at the top tops. The parent and child are both wearing gloves and are smiling.
